FRAN OWENS NEW SINGLE

"A LITTLE GOOD NEWS TODAY"

AVAILABLE NOW!

"Meet the artist Q & A"

Q - Fran, what motivated you to write this song?

A - I was one of the people in this country who lost their job because of the pandemic.

I had been dedicated to entertaining in nursing homes, assisted livings, adult daycares, and senior centers.

I was devastated financially as I have been forced to live on my social security and limited in my activities.

Emotionally, I was lonely but wanted to help others. I was determined to stay as positive as I could through this devastation and reached out by phone to as many

people, as I could, to uplift their spirits. I was thinking one day that what we all needed was a "LITTLE GOOD NEWS TODAY"

I have always written songs that pertained to my personal experiences, and I sat down and wrote what I was feeling.

I contacted Carlos Martinez who owned a recording studio in Manchester, NH, and asked if he would help me make this song a reality.

He agreed with my motives and over a few months, we came up with the finished product. I sincerely hope I have been successful in my wish to make a difference in people's lives by writing this song.

Q - What was your inspiration to become a performer?

A - I got very ill at the age of 3 and was in bed listening to music for 9 months. On my 4th birthday when I had gotten well, my mother asked me what I would like to do for my birthday. I wanted to go where there was live music. In the small town of Bingham, Maine, she took me to the Grange Hall to hear a country band. They announced that there was going to be a talent contest and I just got out of my seat and went to the back of the stage.

I sang a song with the band and WON THE CONTEST! The prize was $5.00 and to a little girl in 1947, that was a lot of money.

I knew right then and there I was going to be a STAR. I have pursued my career all these years and love music as much as ever.

Q - Let's chat about the Senior Pageants you've won! What is that experience like?

A - I had no idea that there was such a thing as a Senior Pageant but at the age of 62 someone told me all about "SENIOR AMERICA". I found out that I could compete for the title of Ms. Massachusetts Senior America that took place in Springfield, MA.

I got ready and competed in November of 2006. I was thrilled when I won and went on to Las Vegas for the National pageant to compete for the title of MS. SENIOR AMERICA. I did not win that title in 2007, but I met some of the greatest ladies I had ever been exposed to.

SENIOR AMERICA is for women 60 and older who have a vision for making a difference in the lives they touch on a daily basis. They do volunteer work in their communities all over the country. I am totally involved in SENIOR AMERICA and I am the (president of the National organization NSAA (National Senior Alumni Assoc)

It has been the highlight of my career because as the Queen, I have traveled all over the country appearing on stages and bringing joy to those I encounter.

Q - What's next on Fran's musical journey?

A - I would like to continue to inspire people by releasing other songs I have written about my own life experiences.

I honestly believe I can help people look at their own

struggles in a better way as I have been through a lot myself. it is my goal to give my talent musically to other people and give them a 'LIFT'.
